Bewley’s wins gold for new capsule system
The first Irish single-serve coffee capsule system, launched earlier this year by Bewley’s, has won a two star Gold Medal in the espresso coffee category at the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste Awards in London.
The major win by Bewley’s endorses several months of investment in innovation leading to the launch of Ireland’s first capsule system which also includes a gold blend tea option.
Bewley’s Master Roaster Paul O’Toole (pictured) selected the varieties of coffee and tea used in the new capsule system, maximising the flavour intensity and freshness of the offer. Each sealed foil capsule contains 8 grammes of roast and ground coffee, or 2.5 grammes of fresh gold blend tea leaves. Bewley’s also scooped a further six gold medals for its tea and coffee at the awards.
