Bewley’s Gold Blend is Tea-riffic – taste test shows
Bewley’s Gold Blend Tea Bags have been named overall winner of the RTE Afternoon Show’s Consumer Panel tea tasting programme. The Afternoon Show tested and ranked four different brands of Gold Blend tea bags according to their taste, flavour, strength, texture, colour and value for money.
A tasting panel of four consumers who sampled the teas live during the programme awarded Bewley’s Gold Blend Tea a total of 19 points out of a possible twenty. This was five points ahead of Lyons’ Gold Label Tea Bags (14 points), followed by Barry’s (13 points) and Dunnes Own Label (11 points).

This was reflected in the judging where the tea was stated to be “very flavorsome, – a comforting cup of tea”. Other panelists commented on the unique flavour and smooth taste.
