ISO
ISO9001:2008 is an international quality management system standard which puts the consumer first. Customer satisfaction, our legal responsibilities and continual performance improvements are the standards upon which this certificate is granted by the International Organisation for Standardisation
ISO14001:2004 is an international environmental management system standard which puts the environment first. How an organization minimises any harmful effects to the environment caused by its activities is of primary concern. To achieve this certificate, an organisation must be dedicated to improvements in its environmental practices and performances.
BRC Global Standard for Food Safety
The BRC Global Standard is regarded as the benchmark for best practice in the food industry. It specifies requirements to be met by an organisation to enable the production, packaging, storage and distribution of safe food and consumer products. Certification to a Global Standard reassures retailers and branded manufacturers of the capability and competence of their suppliers. This food safety standard covers critical topics such as HACCP Systems, Quality Management System, Factory Environmental Standards, Product Control, Process Control and Personnel.
Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association
The Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA) certifies organic food and products throughout the island of Ireland. It maintains a set of rigorous organic production and food processing standards, providing the latest information and training on organic farming and food production.
Soil Association Organic Standard
The Soil Association Organic Standard ensures compliance with EU Organic Regulations that ensure farming practices do not impact negatively on plant, animal, human and environmental health.
Our Awards
Bewley’s has been awarded numerous Gold Medals at the Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards. These prestigious awards honour Irish and UK companies who produce the highest quality food and drinks.
Bewley’s has won eleven gold medals at the prestigious international Great Taste Awards 2010 for its coffee and tea. This is a record number of awards for an Irish coffee and tea company and also means Bewley’s was the most successful hot beverage producer in the categories in which it competed.

Among the award winners were Bewley’s Fairtrade Harmony Blend, the only espresso blend from the UK and Ireland to win three gold stars, and Bewley’s Special Blend Fairtrade Tea and Earl Grey Loose Tea, which both received two gold stars. Bewley’s Original Blend, Gold Blend, Irish Afternoon, Decaffeinated Blend and Irish Afternoon Loose Tea all received one gold star each. Bewley’s famous Café Blend coffee and Special Reserve Signature Espresso were also awarded a gold medal each.
The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Foods, are the acknowledged benchmark for speciality food and drink. They have been described as “the Oscars” of the food world and the “epicurean equivalent of the Booker Prize.”
In 2009, Bewley’s Gold Blend Tea was awarded a Two Star Gold Award in the blended tea-bags category, and Bewley’s Green Blend Tea and Bewley’s Special Reserve Tea were awarded One Star Gold Awards.

Our Barista Academy has a long track record in training world class baristas that in turn have been winners of numerous awards. Since 2007 alone, we have trained two Irish Barista Champions and a World Barista Champion.
